Ridgewood Open House
You are invited to the Ridgewood Pool suit-fitting party held at Simply Swimming on Thursday, April 22nd from 4:00 – 7:00 pm. Get a jump-start on ordering your suit, enjoy refreshments, turn in your RW registration forms, and sign up to volunteer at meets. Unable to make this date? Just stop by Simply Swimming a few days before the Open House, or a week or two thereafter. Please note: Because of increasing manufacturer limitations on the number of swimsuits, the sooner you purchase your suit, the better.

Ridgewood’s Start & Turn Clinic
A shortened version of our annual Stroke Clinic will be offered this season. This gives swimmers an opportunity to improve their skills on two crucial race-elements: starts and turns in preparation for the summer swim season. It’s a bargain at just $15 for Ridgewood members ($25 for non-members). This year, the Clinic is open only to 9-14 year olds – there will be three hour-long sessions on June 1st, 2nd and 3rd. See the enclosed information for details. Swimmers from other pools are welcome to attend.

Swim/Dive Team Practice
Practices will be held June 7-11, both in the morning and at night to accommodate those still in school. Anyone wishing to participate in the first meet on June 12 should plan to attend.

Swim Team Practice Times

13-14’s, 15-18’s:
M, W, F 6:30-8:30am
T, R 8:15-10:00am

11-12’s:
M, W, F 8:15-10:00am
T, R 6:45-8:30am

9-10’s:
M – F 11:45-1:00pm

8 & Unders:
M – F 8:00-9:00am or 9:00-10:00am

Evening Practice
M-F 4:00-5:30

Added practice times will be available for those swimmers who are in age groups with more people than what is comfortable for each lane to handle. This practice time will take place from 4:00pm-5:30pm. Coaches will determine eligible swimmers. Adult lap swimmers will still have lanes available at that time.

Home Swim & Dive Meet Volunteers
Ridgewood hosts 4 home meets this season (including Ridgewood Relays) and participation is needed by all swim/dive team families to volunteer. Parents are required to assist in some capacity for at least 3 half-meet sessions, or pay an additional fee of $125. There are various opportunities – announcing, timing, concessions stand, and awards, to name a few – so that everyone can take a part in making our meets run efficiently and professionally. Schedules will be available at Simply Swimming on April 22nd and will be posted at the pool during Swim Team Sign-Up (June 4) and Meet the Coaches Day (June 5). Sign-ups are on a first-come, first-served basis. The participation fee rule will be enforced – we need your help!
