Water BalletOne of the largest events at the pool each summer is the annual Water Ballet Show. Over one hundred girls and boys participate in the show each summer, as well as many familiar faces from the Ridgewood staff, who lend their talents in the comical skits and legendary staff routine. In order to participate in the show, girls must attend Water Ballet lessons on a regular basis and attend weekly show practices. Boys can also join in the fun by signing up to be part of the boys’ routine, which requires two Sunday practices.

Important Dates

Water Ballet Finale Practices - Sunday, July 13 and Sunday, July 20 @ 10:15am.
Boy’s Water Ballet Practice - Sunday, July 13 and Sunday, July 20 @ 9:30am.
Water Ballet Rehearsals - Monday, July 21 and Tuesday, July 22 @ 7:00pm.
Water Ballet Shows - Wednesday, July 23 @ 7:00pm and Thursday, July 24 @ 9:00pm.

Attention Water Ballet parents! We need volunteers to help us run the Water Ballet Show. Your participation is vital in making the show run smoothly. If you are available, please sign-up to help with hair,
make-up, or costumes. Sign-up sheets are available in the checkroom.

Water Ballet Lessons:

  • Participants in Water Ballet lessons must currently be taking or have passed level 3 swim lessons and also be a strong deep level swimmer.
  • Water Ballet lessons follow the same morning schedule as swim and dive lessons.

Water Ballet Show Requirements:

  • Girls must participate in water ballet lessons on a regular basis.
  • In addition to lessons, there are 2 required practice times each week. Each practice is scheduled at 12:00, 12:20, or 12:40 and lasts 20 minutes.
  • Girls in level 1A meet once a week for show practice and can only miss one of these practices.
  • Girls in level 1B and higher CANNOT miss more than two show practices.
    • The Swim/Dive team trip to Noah’s Ark and July 4th does not count against them.
    • If they miss more than three show time practices, they will NOT be able to participate in the show.
  • Girls must purchase a leotard to be in the show.
  • There are two Sunday practices for the finale that are mandatory.
  • There are two rehearsals for the show that are mandatory.
  • Girls are required to participate in both shows.
