Returning member registration opens at 9am!
Monday, April 15, 2021
New Member Registration opens at 9:00am.
500 Member Limit
Registration will remain open until we reach our 500-member limit. Once we hit our maximum capacity, we will not be able to accept additional members for the season (including any stockholders or past members who have not yet signed up). Please be aware that waiting to renew your membership may jeopardize your ability to be active members this season, regardless of your stockholder status. We reached capacity in both 2016 and 2017.
Lesson Sign-up Registry
Members will be assigned their position for lesson sign-up based on the order in which their registration (including payment) is completed. You will be notified of a time frame in which to register your child for swim, dive and water ballet lessons; the sooner you complete your registration, the earlier your time frame will be!
Ridgewood Stock & Installment Plan
There is a one-time fee to purchase stock, separate from yearly membership dues. If you have already tried our Special Non-Stock Summer Membership and wish to have a family membership, you must purchase stock. Stock purchase is optional for Adult-Only Memberships. Payment can be made in full, or with our Stock Installment Plan of three consecutive, nonrefundable payments of $200 over three years. You can purchase stock and choose either payment option when you register for your membership. Private stock transfers are accepted and arranged privately between you and the seller. NEW SERVICE REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL MEMBERS FOR 2020 SEASON
This summer, Ridgewood Pool is proud to host the 2020 All-City Championship Swim Meet July 30-August 1st. This meet, which alternates locations among the 13 member pools of the All-City League, is the largest outdoor amateur swim meet in the country, drawing over 2,000 swimmers and thousands of families, fans and spectators. While hosting such a large event requires a tremendous amount of resources, it does generate a significant amount of revenue that will benefit all Ridgewood members.
Therefore, for this season only, all members (excluding Senior Members) will be required to work at least one volunteer shift at the All-City Swim Meet, in addition to the general membership shift requirement (social events, brunches, etc.). While Senior Members are exempt from these requirements, voluntary participation is welcome. Specifically, the pool Board has approved the following changes to the member volunteer requirements for the 2020 season:
Swim Team-Only Families:
Dive Team-Only Families:
Families who participate in both Swim and Dive:
All Members (excluding Senior Members) who are not part of Swim or Dive team:
*A note about the All-City Swim Meet Shifts:
While a large number of the All-City shifts will need to be filled during the three days of the meet, there are also a number of tasks that need to be completed in the week leading up to and just after the event. In other words, there should be plenty of different types of jobs to choose from that will accommodate almost any schedule.
Fees and Buyout Policy
Historically, we have offered the option to pay an up-front fee to buy out of the swim or dive team requirements. This year, it is more important than ever that we fill all of the volunteer spots needed. Therefore, the Board has voted to temporarily suspend the buyout option for the 2020 season.
Additionally, all volunteer shifts will be carefully tracked. Members will be assessed a $75 fee for each shift that is missed. The fees for not completing these requirements are invoiced after the season is completed, and must be paid prior to or concurrent with the next season’s registration.
If you have questions or concerns, please contact a Ridgewood Pool Board member. Our intent is not to be punitive, but to control costs, keep Ridgewood Pool a wonderful place to be, and ensure we host a successful Championship Swim Meet on behalf of the entire All-City Swim and Dive League. Please pitch in — there are plenty of opportunities, and it’s a great way to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones.
All fees for the season are due by May 15. If any fees were assessed to your account due to non-fulfillment of your member service requirement from last season, or any additional unpaid fees from previous seasons, those fees must be paid in full prior to the this season as well. No members or their families will be permitted to use the facilities, sign up for lessons, or participate in team practices and meets until all dues and fees are paid in full.

2021 Covid policy
Member Service Requirement
Update on 2021 Social Events & Volunteer Requirement
Given the ever-changing public health situation, some of the gray areas that exist when it comes to gathering outside with food & drink involved, and our desire to make sure our pool can be even more accessible to members than last year, we are currently not planning on holding any of our traditional social events such as brunch, teen nights, pool carnival, etc.
We may opt to incorporate some smaller activities later in the summer if it seems possible. We'll just have to keep "going with the flow" just as we all have been this past year. The good news is that no matter what, we know we'll all be able to enjoy the pool for another summer!
What does this mean for the member volunteer requirement?
For the "general" requirement that applies to all members (with Seniors being optional), there won't be one again for 2021. HOWEVER, know that we will still need our wonderful community to help with two more spring clean-up days, fall clean-up, and other needs that may arise during the summer. You are such a generous community, and I'm hoping we can rely on you again this year!
NOTE: Swim & Dive Team volunteering is a separate requirement.
If your child participates in Swim or Dive Team, your family will be required to volunteer at meets for those groups. Swim/Dive service shifts do not fulfill your General Membership requirement, and General Membership service does not fulfill the Swim/Dive requirement. Swim Team asks three shifts per family over the season, or a payment of $150; this fee is pro-rated if you complete one or two shifts. Dive team requires one shift per season. With the large number of participants on our Swim and Dive Teams, there is no way to run a meet without everyone's help. Ridgewood Pool runs some fun, efficient, and exiting meets -- and we appreciate our fantastic families! We couldn't do it without you! If you are unable to fulfill your volunteer service requirements, you will be assessed a $75 fee for general service requirements, and/or a $150 fee for Swim Team service requirements. The fees for not completing these requirements are invoiced after the season is completed, and must be paid prior to the next season's registration. If you have questions or concerns, please contact a Ridgewood Pool Board member. Our intent is not to be punitive, but to control costs and keep Ridgewood Pool a wonderful place to be. Please pitch in -- there are plenty of opportunities, and it's a great way to meet new friends and reconnect with old ones.
